Robin Davies was born in Newcastle in 1952 and has lived in Paris since 1980. After studying painting in London, he turned to photography in the 1970s. As a fashion and advertising photographer, he quickly gained a reputation that opened the doors of major international phototheques. In 2000, he decided to break with commercial photography to devote himself exclusively to artistic projects. His collaboration with the Alpha label has made him a specialist in photographic reporting of baroque music recordings. His work in black and white, his spontaneous portraits and interest in landscapes has naturally led him to work with a Leica.
