ARTIST RESIDENCIES

Tasto Solo // Currently in Residence

In residence at Château de Bournazel, the Tasto Solo ensemble rediscovers the repertoires of the late Middle Ages and the Renaissance with great refinement and virtuosity. Around its director and founder, the organist Guillermo Pérez, the group brings together an extraordinary group of early music specialists from all over Europe to present exquisite performances, where historical research blends with creativity and the art of transmitting emotions. In this way, the ensemble has played a decisive role in the recovery and dissemination of these repertoires that were once forgotten and which are now regaining their rightful place on the artistic scene.

Tasto Solo’s discography to date includes three CDs published by the Passacaille label: “Meyster ob allen Meystern”, “Le chant de leschiquier” and “Early Modern English Music”. These recordings have repeatedly won the “Diapason d’or” award and have received numerous other awards and recognitions from the international press, such as Amadeus “CD of the Month”, Ritmo & Audio Clásica “Excellent”, Pizzicato “Supersonic”, Scherzo “Exceptional”, France Musique “Coup de Coeur” and ICMA Nomination.

The ensemble performs regularly at the most prestigious early music festivals and concert halls, including the Palácio Nacional in Sintra, the Auditori de Barcelona, the Royaumont Foundation, the Festival de Saintes, the Berlin Konzerthaus, the Wiener Konzerthaus, the Laus Polyphoniae & AMUZ in Antwerp, the Concertgebouw Brugge, the emblematic Utrecht Oude Muziek Festival and many others.

Tasto Solo is also associated with the Bach Academy of Arques-la-Bataille for the research, creation and dissemination of its new projects.

The association of the Friends of Château de Bournazel was created in January 2012 with the aim of promoting this exceptional Historic Monument, by organising cultural events contributing to the enhancement of the artistic heritage of the Renaissance. The association, through its actions, aims to encourage the reception of the public but also of researchers specialising in the period. In the same way, the association provides human, material and financial support for the conservation, restoration, protection and accessibility of the château.
